AFSCME Council 93 Boston Presidents’ Committee Endorses Latoya Gayle for State Senate

BOSTONThe AFSCME Council 93 Boston Presidents’ Committee is proud to support Latoya Gayle for Massachusetts State Senator from the 1st Suffolk District. Latoya has spent her career advocating for working families and their needs. Our members and Latoya face the same issues everyday - rising property tax rates, rent increases, housing and childcare costs, and being able to afford to stay in their neighborhoods.

As an organization whose membership is made up of those doing critical work for our communities, we know how important it is to elect leaders who recognize and support the essential work our members do. With Latoya at the Massachusetts State House, our union brothers and sisters will have a steadfast ally who values public service, the work our members do, and will bring labor to the table when important policymaking decisions are being made.

“We are excited to stand beside Latoya Gayle and support her campaign and look forward to working together to build a stronger future for all residents of the 1st Suffolk District,” said Christopher “Tiger” Stockbridge and Greg Hobson Co-Chairs of the AFSCME Council 93 Boston Presidents’ Committee.

Thank you to the AFSCME Council 93 Boston Presidents' Committee for endorsing my campaign,” said Latoya Gayle, Candidate for Massachusetts State Senate, 1st Suffolk. “The hardworking members of AFSCME keep our city running every single day. They need a senator who fights to support them, instead of putting their jobs on the chopping block so corporations can pay lower taxes. From our schools and libraries to Boston 311 and the Public Works Department, they are the people who make sure our neighborhoods function and our residents get the services they rely on.”

“This winter, we saw their dedication firsthand as they worked through snowstorms to keep our streets safe and our city moving. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every neighborhood. I'm honored to have their support and look forward to continuing the fight for workers, strong public services, and a Boston that works for everyone.”
