Rooted in Dorchester, Latoya has spent her career centering families, amplifying community voices, and turning lived experience into meaningful change. She believes leadership begins with listening and is grounded in service. Now she’s running for 1st Suffolk State Senate to fight for affordability, sustainability, and expanded opportunity for the communities who call this district home.

Located entirely within Boston’s city limits, the 1st Suffolk district covers Dorchester, the South End, South Boston, Chinatown, Bay Village,and parts of Back Bay and Roxbury.
It is 12 square miles with a population of about 180,000 residents and encompasses many diverse communities.

As a mother of four raising my family in Dorchester, I know how rising rents, child care costs, and economic uncertainty affect families across the 1st Suffolk. That’s why I’m focused on lowering the cost of living, expanding access to affordable housing and child care, addressing rising energy costs through climate justice, and strengthening our public schools.
